Migrating from Upvoty

Step-by-step guide to export your Upvoty feedback and import it into ProductBridge using the CSV import tool.

Overview

Upvoty allows you to export your feedback posts as a CSV file. Once you have that file, ProductBridge's import wizard guides you through column mapping so your posts, votes, statuses, and author details transfer cleanly.

Step 1 — Export your posts from Upvoty

Open your Upvoty dashboard

Log in to your Upvoty workspace and go to Settings.

Navigate to Export

In the Settings menu, look for the Export or Data Export section. Click Export posts to generate a CSV of all your feedback.

Download the file

Upvoty will prepare the export and either download it immediately or email you a link. Save the .csv file to your computer.

If Upvoty exports a .xlsx or spreadsheet file, open it in Excel or Google Sheets and save it as CSV (comma separated values) before uploading to ProductBridge.

Step 2 — Upload to ProductBridge

Navigate to Settings → Import Data in ProductBridge and drop your Upvoty CSV onto the upload zone.

Step 3 — Map Upvoty columns to ProductBridge fields

Upvoty's export structure may vary depending on your plan. Here is a common mapping:

Upvoty columnProductBridge fieldNotes
title / nameTitle (required)Map this first.
description / bodyContentThe full post body.
votes / upvotesUpvotesPreserved as the imported vote count.
statusStatusMapped to your org's statuses in the next step.
board / categoryBoardMapped to your org's boards in the next step.
tagsTagsComma-separated — auto-created if needed.
author_email / emailAuthor EmailMatches or creates a user account.
author_name / nameAuthor NameStored with the post.
created_at / dateCreated AtPreserves the original creation date.
due_date / etaETA / Due DateParsed automatically.

Column names in Upvoty exports can vary. Check the first row of your CSV to identify the exact header names, then map accordingly.

Step 4 — Map statuses and boards

After column mapping, ProductBridge shows every unique status and board value from your Upvoty CSV. Assign each one to an existing ProductBridge status or board.

Common Upvoty status values and suggested mappings:

Upvoty statusSuggested ProductBridge status
openOpen
plannedPlanned
in-progressIn Progress
done / completedCompleted
closedClosed

Create any missing statuses in Settings → Statuses before starting the import if you want an exact match.

Step 5 — Start importing

Click Start Importing. ProductBridge processes your posts in the background. When complete, a summary shows how many posts were imported successfully and how many were skipped with the specific reasons.
