Ask AI
Learn how to use ProductBridge Ask AI — a conversational assistant that lets you search feedback, analyze themes, check your roadmap, explore user segments, and query your knowledge base using natural language.
Your AI-Powered Product Analyst
Ask AI is a ChatGPT-like conversational interface built into ProductBridge. Ask natural language questions about your feedback, themes, roadmap, user segments, and knowledge base — and get instant, data-backed answers with rich visualizations.
Ask AI understands context, handles follow-up questions, and can autonomously call up to 9 specialized tools to find the information you need.
Getting Started
Open Ask AI
Click Ask AI in the sidebar to open the full-page conversational interface. Your conversation history is saved automatically — you can return to any thread at any time.
Ask a Question
Type a question in natural language. Ask AI determines which tools to use and returns structured answers with supporting data, feedback cards, charts, and links.
Drill Deeper
Ask follow-up questions in the same thread. Ask AI retains context from previous messages, so you can refine, compare, and dig into specifics without restating your query.
Available Tools
Ask AI has access to 9 specialized tools it calls automatically based on your question:
Search Feedback
Search and filter feedback posts using semantic search and advanced filters.
You can combine natural language queries with filters. For example: "Show me Intercom feedback about pricing from the last 30 days, sorted by top votes."
What you can ask:
- "What feedback came in last week?"
- "Show me all bug reports from Intercom"
- "Top voted feature requests this quarter"
- "Feedback about onboarding from enterprise users"
Filters available: time range, status, board, source (Intercom, Slack, Jira, etc.), source type (manual or integration), user segment
Sorting: relevance, newest, oldest, top upvotes, top discussions
Analyze Themes
AI-powered theme extraction that identifies patterns, pain points, and trends across your feedback.
What you can ask:
- "What are users complaining about this month?"
- "Top themes from Intercom conversations"
- "Compare themes in Q1 vs Q2"
- "What patterns do you see in negative feedback?"
Returns theme names, mention counts, descriptions, and a summary of the overall analysis.
Check Roadmap
Search your product roadmap to check if features are planned, in progress, or completed.
What you can ask:
- "Is dark mode on the roadmap?"
- "What features are currently in progress?"
- "When is the API v2 shipping?"
Returns roadmap items with title, status, description, and ETA.
Search Knowledge Base
RAG-powered search over your uploaded documents — PDFs, guides, internal docs, and help articles.
What you can ask:
- "What does our API rate limit policy say?"
- "How do I configure SSO according to our docs?"
- "What's in the onboarding guide?"
Returns an AI-generated answer with source citations (filename, page number, relevance score).
Get Feedback Stats
Aggregate statistics and metrics about your feedback volume, distribution, and trends.
What you can ask:
- "Give me an overview of feedback this month"
- "How much feedback did we receive in the last 7 days?"
- "Breakdown by status and board"
Returns total counts, 7-day and 30-day volumes, breakdowns by status, board, and source, plus top-voted posts.
Find Similar Posts
Find duplicate or related feedback posts for a specific item.
What you can ask:
- "Find posts similar to this one: [post ID]"
- "Are there duplicates of the dark mode request?"
Returns related posts ranked by similarity score.
Get Post Details
Get full details about a specific feedback post including vote count, comments, status, board, and timestamps.
List User Segments
Browse all available user segments (e.g., "Enterprise", "Pro Plan", "Trial Users") with their descriptions and matched user counts.
What you can ask:
- "What user segments do we have?"
- "Show me the enterprise segment"
Ask AI calls this tool automatically before filtering other tools by segment. When you ask "What are enterprise users saying?", it first finds the segment, then searches feedback filtered to that segment.
Get Segment Users
View the actual users within a segment — their names, emails, companies, and how much feedback each has submitted.
What you can ask:
- "Who are the users in the Pro Plan segment?"
- "Show me enterprise users with the most feedback"
Example Queries
"Show me the top 10 most-voted feature requests from this month"
Ask AI calls search_feedback with a 30-day time range, sorted by top upvotes. Returns feedback cards with vote counts, statuses, and board names — each clickable to view the full post.
"What are the main pain points users reported via Intercom in the last 90 days?"
Ask AI calls analyze_themes filtered to Intercom source with a 90-day range. Returns a list of themes with mention counts, progress bars, and a written summary of the key patterns.
"How does feedback from enterprise users compare to trial users?"
Ask AI calls list_user_segments to find both segments, then runs search_feedback and analyze_themes for each. Returns a side-by-side comparison of themes, volume, and sentiment.
"Is dark mode on the roadmap? If not, how many people are requesting it?"
Ask AI first calls check_roadmap to search for dark mode. If not found, it calls search_feedback to find related feedback and get_feedback_stats to quantify demand. Returns a combined answer with roadmap status and user demand data.
Conversation Management
Ask AI saves your conversations as threads, just like ChatGPT:
- Create threads — Each new conversation starts a fresh thread with an auto-generated title
- Switch threads — Browse your conversation history in the sidebar and click to resume any thread
- Rename threads — Edit the thread title to organize your research
- Archive threads — Move old threads to the archive to keep your sidebar clean
- Delete threads — Permanently remove threads you no longer need
Thread titles are generated automatically by AI based on your first message. You can rename them anytime by clicking the thread title.
Tips for Better Results
- Be specific with time ranges — "last 7 days", "this quarter", "between January and March" help scope your query precisely
- Name your sources — "from Intercom", "via Slack", "Zendesk tickets" let Ask AI filter by integration source
- Reference segments — "from enterprise users" or "Pro Plan customers" triggers segment-aware analysis
- Ask follow-ups — Ask AI retains full context within a thread, so you can drill deeper with "break that down by board" or "show me examples"
- Try multi-step questions — Ask AI can chain up to 10 tool calls per message, so complex questions like "Find the top theme, then show me the roadmap status for it" work naturally
Ask AI uses a low-temperature model (0.1) for focused, deterministic responses. It only states facts from your actual data — no hallucinated statistics or invented feedback.
