Themes
Themes are the highest-altitude view in Insights — groups of related observations organized by the functional areas of your product.
The Big Picture
Themes are the highest-altitude stories in your feedback — groups of related observations gathered under the functional areas of your product (for example, Resume Editor, Onboarding & Education, or Feedback Collection). Where an observation is one specific problem, a theme tells you which part of the product is generating the most discussion.
Reading the Themes Board
Each theme is shown as a card with:
- Name — the functional area (for example, Resume Editor)
- Status —
Emerging,Active,Dismissed, orResolved(see Status) - Summary — a short description of what the theme covers
- Metrics —
observations · people · posts: how many observations roll up into it, how many distinct people are behind it, and how many feedback posts contribute - Source breakdown — how the contributing feedback splits across sources (for example, Public 1 · Appsumo 2)
Filter and Sort
- Status — show only themes in a given status
- Source — keep themes with evidence from a specific source
- Sort — order by Newest or another available option
Open a Theme
Select a theme to open it and see the observations grouped inside it — and from there the evidence, the individual signals and source feedback posts. This lets you move from "Resume Editor is noisy this month" down to the exact customer quotes in a couple of clicks.
Themes are deliberately broad — a healthy product usually has only a handful. If you are looking for a specific problem rather than an area, start with Observations.
